Wash your hair with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner with lukewarm water. Key words to look for are moisturizing, intensive therapy and sleek, etc
Brush hair daily. Hold the roots of your hair with one hand while brushing in a downward motion with the other. (For wavy/curly hair use a spray bottle of water for a natural look & For “wet” look we suggest a leave in conditioner & water, comb through with a wide tooth comb, starting with the ends working your way up to the root.)
Apply any oils or sprays minimally from the mid-shaft down. Leave-in conditioners and hydrating oils are great for hair extensions, especially if they are feeling dry (use minimally).
Apply heat protectant to hair before flat ironing or styling hair using temp up to 450 degrees
Sleep or Store with silk or satin cap/scarf to avoid frizz.
Wash your hair too much. Don not massage hair when washing. Don't scrub hair as you would your hair, wash flat while using a wig brush or wide tooth comb.
Sleep with wet hair. Once your hair extensions are completely dry, braid hair or tie it in a loose ponytail or put up in one especially while swimming, sweating or exercising etc
Frequently swim in chlorinated/salt water as it can promote damage and fading to the hair and also cause hair to matte.
Color your extension. Leave this process to a professional
Once the hair is coloured don't neglect it. Be sure to keep colour treated hair conditioned and moisturized.
Use heat tools too often. Just like with natural hair, too much mechanical heat will damage hair.
